CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. - Authorities have identified two additional people believed to be connected to an ongoing theft ring operating in Cleveland County and surrounding areas, bringing the number of suspected or confirmed participants to nine.
The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office identified the latest individuals as Sparks and Billy J. Magby. The information released by the sheriff's office did not provide Sparks' first name.
Sparks is currently being held in the Cleveland County Jail on multiple charges, including second-degree burglary, engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses, grand larceny and entering with intent to steal copper.
His bond has been set at $150,000.
Investigators also identified Magby after evidence from a stolen vehicle investigation was submitted for forensic testing.
According to the sheriff's office, testing by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation laboratory confirmed Magby's DNA was found on evidence collected during that investigation. Authorities did not describe the evidence or provide additional details about the stolen vehicle case.
Magby has outstanding felony warrants in Pontotoc and Pottawatomie counties for knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property, according to the sheriff's office.
The agency did not provide the names of the other seven people previously linked to the investigation or specify how investigators believe each of the nine is connected to the suspected theft operation.
Anyone with information about Magby's whereabouts or any of the nine people identified in the investigation can contact the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 405-701-8642.
