MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. — Two individuals have been sentenced to life in prison in connection with the 2024 disappearance and killing of a Tulsa man, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Juan Luviano, 40, was reported missing to the Tulsa Police Department on December 21, 2024, after last being seen on December 19 near North Trenton Avenue.
During the search, investigators developed information indicating foul play may have been involved, prompting the Tulsa Police Department Homicide Unit to launch an investigation.
As the case extended beyond Tulsa’s jurisdiction, the OSBI was requested to assist on January 9, 2025.
On January 13, 2025, OSBI agents conducted a search in a wooded area near Spaniard Creek in Muskogee County, where human remains were discovered. The remains were later identified as Luviano.
Investigators identified two suspects, 23-year-old Maria Guadalupe and 20-year-old Irwin Medina. Both were located and arrested in Tulsa on January 15, 2025, and booked into the Muskogee County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy.
On March 11, 2026, Guadalupe and Medina pleaded guilty to the murder. A Muskogee County district judge sentenced both to life in prison in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Authorities said multiple agencies, including the Tulsa Police Department, Coweta Police Department, and the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office, assisted in the investigation.
