Teen Arrested in Texas Faces Human Trafficking Charges Involving Two Minors, OBN Says

OKLAHOMA CITY — A teenage suspect is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say she trafficked two minors for commercial sex across state lines, according to the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

The investigation began April 2, 2026, when OBN’s Human Trafficking Unit received information from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Child Abduction Response Team regarding two juvenile girls, ages 15 and 17, who had been arrested in a Fort Worth-area suburb on petit larceny charges.

Authorities said the juveniles were arrested alongside an adult female identified as Emerald Hicks.

“Texas law enforcement disclosed during the arrest that the juveniles made comments leading them to believe they were being trafficked for commercial sex,” OBN Public Information Officer Mark Woodward said.

Hicks later bonded out of jail on the theft charge, while the two juveniles were returned to Oklahoma by state welfare authorities.

OBN agents launched an investigation that led to Hicks being located and detained.

“During interviews with our agents, Hicks admitted to posting commercial ads in Oklahoma City and Texas of her with the juveniles and transporting them to Texas to complete commercial sex dates,” Woodward said.

Hicks was arrested on state charges of two counts of human trafficking of a minor and one count of use of a computer to violate state statute.

Authorities said the juveniles have been placed in state custody and are receiving victim support services.

Officials encourage anyone seeking help or wanting to report suspected human trafficking to visit the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics “You Are Not Alone” resource page.

The investigation remains ongoing.
