TULSA, Okla. - A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a fatal shooting outside a south Tulsa nightclub left a 47-year-old man dead early Sunday morning.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers responded at approximately 4:15 a.m. on July 19 to reports of shots fired outside Flavourz Lounge near East 71st Street and South Memorial Drive.
Security personnel told officers that a large crowd had gathered in the parking lot, where people were drinking and one individual was displaying a handgun. While security was reporting the situation, multiple shots were fired, sending people fleeing from the area.
When officers arrived, they found several spent shell casings in the parking lot but no victims at the scene.
About 15 minutes later, a man who had been shot at Flavourz Lounge was taken to a nearby hospital. The victim, identified as 47-year-old Ahmod Henry, later died from his injuries.
Homicide detectives reviewed surveillance video from the scene and identified the suspected shooter as 28-year-old Ladrea Doyle.
Members of the Tulsa Police Department's Fugitive Warrants Unit located Doyle at an apartment complex near East 81st Street and South Yale Avenue. Officers arrested him as he was leaving the apartment.
According to police, Doyle admitted to shooting Henry but claimed the victim had been causing problems at the gathering and attempted to grab the gun before the shooting occurred.
Following consultation with the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office, Doyle was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The charges against Doyle are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
